“Can I Smell Your 10 Day Old Socks?” Erm… Probably Not! The Reality of a Dirty Socks Fetish

A little worn, a little loved… and apparently just what some people are looking for!

Some people want designer shoes. Others want expensive handbags. And then there are people who would be absolutely delighted to receive a pair of my old, worn socks!

I’ve had some interesting requests over the years from people with a dirty socks fetish. Some want socks I’ve worn all day, others want me to exercise in them, and a few would ideally like me to wear the same pair for several days.

Trying to get my socks smelly… but they’re not cooperating! 😂

The problem? My socks don’t seem to get particularly smelly. Even when I’ve made an effort, the results aren’t always what people are hoping for.

I’m starting to wonder whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. Surely not having smelly feet is supposed to be a positive?

Apparently, not when someone is specifically looking for the opposite!

What Is a Dirty Socks Fetish?

A dirty socks fetish is an attraction to socks that have been worn, particularly the scent, texture or association with the person who wore them.

Some people enjoy the smell of worn socks, while others are interested in particular styles, materials or the idea of someone having worn them during their everyday activities.

For some, the appeal is connected to foot worship. Others are specifically interested in the socks themselves.

I’ve found that people’s preferences can be surprisingly detailed. It’s not always a case of simply putting on any old pair of socks and calling it a day.

People Really Want Me to Wear Socks for Days!

One of the more interesting requests I receive is to wear the same socks for several days.

Not just a few hours. Not just a long walk.

Days!

Now, I understand the idea. Someone wants socks that have been worn long enough to develop a stronger natural scent.

But I also have a day job, and I need to go about my normal life without worrying that my feet are going to start smelling.

I’m not going to spend an entire working week wearing the same pair of socks just because someone has a particular fantasy.

I normally explain that if someone wants me to wear socks for a very long time, they’ll probably need to catch me when I’m not doing my day job or when I’m on holiday.

Even then, it would have to be something we’d agreed on beforehand. And I still wouldn’t guarantee the socks would smell the way they wanted.

Can I Wear Socks at the Gym or on a Long Walk?

This is a much more realistic request.

If someone wants me to wear a particular pair of socks while I’m at the gym or going for a long walk, that’s something I can consider arranging in advance.

I already enjoy walking, so it’s not a particularly complicated request when it fits around my plans.

The funny part is what happens afterwards.

Someone might be hoping for a really strong smell, but they could end up with a pair of socks that barely smell of anything.

We can try it and see what happens, but I can’t promise a particular result.

I’ve discussed the same problem in my article Sweaty Feet Fetish: Problems When Your Feet Don’t Smell.

Apparently, both my feet and my socks are determined to be uncooperative!

White Sports Socks, Trainer Socks, Tights and Stockings

People can be quite particular about the type of socks or hosiery they want.

I’ve had requests involving white sports socks, little trainer socks, longer socks, knee-high styles, tights and stockings.

Sometimes people have a particular colour or style in mind. Other times, they’re more interested in how long the socks have been worn.

In private sessions, people have asked me to wear specific types of socks before.

I’m happy to discuss reasonable preferences in advance, rather than having someone arrive and expect me to magically have exactly what they’ve imagined.

And one thing I do genuinely love is being gifted new socks!

There’s something quite amusing about someone buying me a lovely new pair of socks, knowing that what they’re really excited about is the possibility of them becoming old and worn.

People Have Asked to Buy My Really Old Socks

I’ve also had people ask whether they can buy socks that are extremely old and worn out.

I’m talking about socks that have practically reached the end of their lives, sometimes even with holes in them.

But who keeps socks once they’ve got holes in them?

Apparently, I should!

Now that I know people are interested in them, you’d think I’d remember to keep my old socks instead of throwing them away.

But I still mostly forget.

By the time I remember that someone might actually want a pair, they’re probably already in the bin.

Would I Sell My Worn Socks?

Yes, I’ve had enquiries from people wanting to buy them.

The difficulty is that quite a few of those enquiries have turned into time-wasting conversations.

Someone starts by asking about buying a pair of worn socks. Then come endless questions about what I’ve been doing, what I’m wearing, how long I’ve worn them and whether they might smell a particular way.

After all that conversation, there’s still no purchase.

Sometimes I get the impression that the conversation itself was what they wanted all along.

Of course, I know people genuinely buy worn socks, and I don’t see anything wrong with that between consenting adults.

I’ve seen that some people set up websites specifically to sell their worn socks, and I can understand why.

Having a proper website with clear products, prices and purchasing arrangements seems much more sensible than spending hours chatting with someone who might, possibly, maybe buy a pair one day.

It’s something I could consider, but I’m not currently advertising a dedicated worn-socks shop.

Why Don’t My Socks Get Very Smelly?

Some people seem able to make their socks smell quite strongly after a relatively short time.

Other people, like me, don’t seem to produce the same results.

There are a few reasons for this.

Fresh sweat itself generally has little smell. The familiar foot odour develops largely through interactions between sweat, skin and microorganisms such as bacteria.

The amount someone sweats, their footwear, the material of their socks, how much moisture is trapped and their individual skin bacteria can all make a difference.

That means two people could wear similar socks for the same amount of time and end up with very different results.

So even if I wear socks at the gym or during a long walk, there’s no guarantee they’ll develop a strong smell.

And personally, I’m not going to deliberately compromise my normal hygiene routine trying to achieve it.

Dirty Socks Fetish During a Foot Worship Session

Some people are interested in including worn socks as part of a private foot worship session rather than buying them separately.

That’s something I’m happy to discuss beforehand.

For example, someone might ask me to wear a particular type of sock during the day, then arrive for an agreed session involving foot worship.

It depends on the request, my schedule and whether it’s something I’m comfortable arranging.

I particularly enjoy receiving a good foot massage, so that can also be a lovely part of a mutually enjoyable foot worship session.

Booking a Dirty Socks Fetish Session in London

If you’re interested in including worn socks in a private foot worship session in East London, you’re welcome to contact me with a clear explanation of what you’re looking for.

Please tell me the type of socks you prefer, whether you’re hoping for them to have been worn during an activity such as walking or going to the gym, and your preferred date.

I can consider reasonable requests arranged in advance, but they need to fit around my normal routine.

I’m not promising to wear the same socks for days, and I’m definitely not guaranteeing a particular smell.

I’d also appreciate people understanding the difference between a genuine booking enquiry and an endless conversation about socks.

Being clear about what you want makes things much easier for both of us.

My Final Thoughts on the Dirty Socks Fetish

I think it’s great that people feel comfortable enough to ask about their interests.

There’s nothing particularly shocking to me about someone enjoying worn socks, even if some of the requests make me laugh.

I just find it funny that something I would normally throw away could be exactly what someone else is looking for.

Maybe I really should start remembering to keep those old socks with holes in them!

As for making my socks smell stronger, I’m still not convinced my feet are going to cooperate.

I’m happy to wear a pair during a long walk or at the gym when it’s practical, and we can see what happens.

But if you’re expecting socks that have been worn for a week and smell absolutely terrible, you may have to find someone whose feet are a little more enthusiastic than mine.

Mine seem quite happy staying fresh!
